Hillary Clinton also gave a speech in Aspen, Colorado and accused President Bush of damaging the economy by catering to the rich. Why was Hillary in Aspen, Colorado? Because she was catering to the rich.
Condoleezza Rice is on a6 day trip to Japan. I never thought I’d see the day when we’re sending “Rice” to Japan.

How ‘bout the price of gas? Oh my God! Oil is now over $62 a barrel. In fact, it is so high, I today I saw the sierra club drilling in Alaska.

The White House announced today that next month Vice President Dick Cheney will get a colonoscopy. It’s important that you get these on a regular basis. You know, the last time he had one, they found one polyp and three oil company executives up there.
In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is.

July 6:
*You know who’s birthday it is today? President Bush. Happy Birthday to President Bush. He’s 59 today. If you haven’t gotten him a birthday gift yet, I know he’s still looking for an exit strategy for Iraq.
*The Olympic committee has picked where the 2012 will be held. The bad news, New York did not get it. The good news, neither did France.
*As you know, Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Conner is stepping down. She didn’t want to resign — she just wants to make sure she’s home so nobody can seize her house.
There is an application to build the “Lost Liberty Hotel” on property currently owned by Justice Souter. Applicant hopes to get the land through emenent domain proceedings.

Here is the original Press Release for the Lost Liberty Hotel
Here’s a wrinkle: the developer is Logan Darrow Clements. Someone by that name was running for Governor of California in the 2003 recall ellection and lists Atlas Shrugged on his campaign’s website.
From WorldNetDaily: The code enforcement officer for the city said: “Am I taking this seriously? But of course,” Meany told the Associated Press. “In lieu of the recent Supreme Court decision, I would imagine that some people are pretty much upset. If it is their right to pursue this type of end, then by all means let the process begin.”

Spent morning and afternoon at Astroworld and Waterworld. Bigger lines for a Sunday, but still a good day with little waiting. Maybe it is Labor Day weekend.
Parody idea:
Playwatch an action drama of amusement park lifeguards. No sharks but a lot of beached whales to worry over.
Hurricane Francis. Thank god it didn’t come an loiter over Houston. Ivan may take a more southern tack so there is a small chance it may affect us. Thinking about what I could do about sand bagging the house and draining pool for a retention pond. We could perhaps stop a critical couple of inches.
Movie: Always. Over the top plot line. Interesting concept, but the climatic flight was too much. And then the version I saw had here crashing the plane into a lake/reservior, sinking and her seeing and being helped by the ghost. Why put that in the story?? I don’t remember seeing it in other showings. Were there two versions?

Has SAP been installed in any company that didn’t
a. cost a fortune to purchase
b. a kings ransom to consultants to re-engineer the process
c. adversely impacted the company when it was turned on?
Texaco paid a double price. Not only did they put themselves through all the pain, but when Chevron merged with them, Texaco’s SAP was canned and replaced with Chevron’s, which of course was different.
I received a letter from TXU. The Envelope said “Important Changes concerning your account".
Inside were two sheets. One a business stylized letter.
Another was “Terms of Service Agreement TXU Energy Version: R-HV-9 Residential Plan. Legal Paper, 1 and 1/2 pages in some 8 pt arial narrow font.
Aside from the fact that I had no part of this “Agreement", this pressed a button.
WHERE and WHAT are the CHANGES!!!
There is a law that TXU has to send you this stuff. Why can’t there be a law that they have to summarize what was added and what was deleted???
My Allstate homeoners is pretty good about this. But credit card companies and this TXU are bad.
By far the worst: Microsoft EULAs.

I am unable to dim a variable to be a filesearch object.
I am stuck with using the
With Application.FileSearch
syntax.
To search for a file of an obscure extention, you must set
.Filetype = msoFileTypeAllFiles
But, I get a compile error: msoFileTypeAllFiles is not defined. I don’t see anything in the VBE to show the mso variables are defined. Solution: Reference the Microsoft Office Object Library
MS Help, FileType Property, click msoFileType
pricejm 040417 reports that the Microsoft Indexing Service interfears with the FileSearch. Best to leave it the Indexing service off.
Another reference that says FileSearch is flaky From excel.programming
My own experience is that it is very slow and I am getting no files found. I am abandoning the approach.
‘This code returns zero files - Access 2003.
With Application.FileSearch 'this requires a Reference to the Office 11 Object library.
.NewSearch
.Filename = “*” & strSFTempl & “*” ‘J1F3-040821.sfs tried with and without the wildcards
.FileType = msoFileTypeAllFiles
.LookIn = strPathTemplate
.SearchSubFolders = True
If .Execute > 0 Then
ffcount = .FoundFiles.Count ‘always returning zero
strPathTemplate = .FoundFiles(1) ‘Returns a string that is FullPathFilename
Else
‘cannot find a template
strPathTemplate = “”
End If
End With
Another report of flakyness from comp.databases.ms-access about problems in 1999
Advice: Stay away. Application.FileSearch, FileType, msoFileTypes Constants.
Categories is a powerful feature, but I just posted a “Web Publishing” note that did not display its category. This one is check for Software and its child: Web Publishing.
I really need to change the layout of the Blog. I hate the line spacing, but I can find no way to tweak it. The Help and Forum have not provide an answer other than change something in the css. But I can’t find the css even if I trusted myself to make the change.
I want a font that is easier to read and kerns better. and there is just too much white space!
For vba code: you have to put in the pre and /pre tags your self. Best to do code inside a pre.
The Generic Page is the best.
I see a big problem working with Word. Copy from Word into SiteStudio will typically create huge HTML garbage. Maybe if you stay in the Rich Text Editor it will be ok, but I have to try to live with it.
I think Site Studio will be too restrictive in how the site is layed out. I really do not see the advantage over Front Page at the moment. Maybe it is only in the choice of templates.
